Visual
art: That
is reminiscent of the kinds of
hallucinatory visions-- intricate,
brightly colored, unusual, complex, imbued
with meaning, and often geometrically
organized-- that one sees with closed eyes
during this hyperdimensional brain state
has been dubbed "psychedelic
art". Psychedelic
art is not always inspired by a drug-induced experience, but often it
is. Although sometimes referred to as visionary or surreal art-- in
that, like dreams, they all draw upon the unconscious as their source
of inspiration-- the truly psychedelic painting is charged with an
unmistakable psychoactive intensity. Psychedelic art is, of
course, best viewed and most appreciated while one is under the
influence of a psychedelic
Dance:
Is
a gesture of the whole body which can ally the body with the soul. It
is one of the most powerful forms of spiritual or magical ritual. It
is a dynamic tool for awakening and stirring the subtle forces and
energies of life. True dance is a means of focusing and directing
consciousness through physical behavior. It is an outer expression of
the inner spirit.
Rave: This
word has its origins in late latin, ravo, ravere,
ravivi, ravisus, and means 'a bathhouse party' an
event now referred to as an orgy. This ancient
event consisted of people lying around naked,
eating lots of food, drinking plenty of wine and
free sex with anyone you wanted. There
were also often exotic people brought in to play
an interesting blend of drums and to dance. These
parties were abandoned during the dark ages.
2.Gathering
of people centered around listening to and dancing
to electronic music, as played by a set of live
djs. Often characterized by the positive,
psychedelic atmosphere, influenced often (but not
always) by drugs and casual sex.3.
A subculture revolving around all-night dance
parties. The parties usually include 1 or more DJs.
Also present in many cases are "chill out
rooms" which feature more ambient music.
Lasers, blaring music, cyberdelic images,
SmartDrinks and often drugs. They are all general
contributors to the rave experience. Raves are
usually held in warehouses, and last until the
next morning. Raves are meant to be very
happy events, everyone ideally should be open and
free, laying aggressions and inhibitions aside for
the night. To enjoy oneself wildly or uninhibitedly.
Psychedelic mind/consciousness-expanding:
a state of intensified distorted sensory
perceptions and feelings or altered states of awareness towards
the dissolution of boundaries and expansion toward the infinite
self. :) A psychedelic experience is
characterized by the striking perception
of aspects of one's mind previously
unknown, or by the creative exuberance of
the mind liberated from its ostensibly
ordinary fetters. Psychedelic states are
an array of experiences including changes
of perception such as hallucinations,
synesthesia, altered states of awareness
or focused consciousness, variation in
thought patterns, trance or hypnotic
states, mystical states, and other mind
alterations. These processes can lead some
people to experience changes in mental
operation defining their self identity (whether
in momentary acuity or chronic development)
different enough from their previous
normal state that it can excite feelings
of newly formed understanding ranging from
revelation & enlightenment to the
opposing polarity of confusion &
psychosis. Psychedelic states may be
elicited by various techniques, such as
meditation, sensory stimulation or
deprivation, and most commonly by the use
of psychedelic substances. When these
psychoactive substances are used for
religious, shamanic, or spiritual purposes,
they are termed entheogens. Its out there !
